Bob Mazza will be taking over operations at the North East Marina, following the retirement of Tim and Pat Truitt who operated the marina for the last two decades. The marina contract was open for bids last August and when Mazza learned of it, thought it was important that someone who recognized what an asset it was to the area and to the region took over.
He also plans to open a new restaurant:
Mazza is working with Erie 1201 Kitchen owners Dan Kern and J.B. Innes to open a new restaurant at the marina that will limit alcoholic beverages sold to Pennsylvania-made wines, beers and spirits.
“Some view that as a limitation. But that’s a plus to me,” Mazza said. “I view it as an opportunity to promote the fact that the property is owned by the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, and we are promoting Pennsylvania products.”
The CrayZ Parrot restaurant now located at the marina will close.
This looks like a very positive development for marina operations and for the entire North East area.
