Sealed Bids will be received by the Borough of North East at the Borough Hall located at 31 West Main Street; North East, PA 16428, until 2:00 p.m. prevailing time on the 23rd day of November, 2015, for Contract 1-2015 Proposed Garage Building; Contract 2-2015 Force Main Construction and Contract 3-2015 Clarifier Brushes. Bids will be publicly opened and read at the above appointed time and place.
Contract 1-2015 – Proposed Garage Building involves construction of a wood framed steel sided building approximately 3,590 square feet in size with concrete floor, doors, windows and related work.
Contract 2-2015 – Force Main Construction involves construction of approximately 482 LF of 8 inch underground force main including approximately 460 LF of directional drilling under Sixteen Mile Creek.
Contract 3-2015 – Clarifier Brushes involves installing three (3) clarifier brush systems in existing clarifiers at the Borough’s Site II Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Each bid must be accompanied by proposal security in the form of a certified check, bank cashier’s check, or bid bond in an amount equal to not less than ten percent (10%) of the total bid price in accordance with provisions contained in the “Instructions to Bidders” section of the specifications. Proposal Security shall be made payable to the North East Borough.
Copies of contract documents, including plans and specifications for the work, may be examined at Borough of North East; 31 West Main Street; North East, PA 16428 (814-725-8611); or at the office of Hill Engineering, Inc., 8 Gibson Street, North East, PA 16428 (814-725-8659). The contract documents may be obtained from Hill Engineering, Inc. upon payment of $75.00. This payment is for each set of contract documents and is non-refundable. Bidders or vendors requesting the documents to be mailed will be responsible for all mailing or shipping charges. Addenda, if any, will be issued to only those persons or companies who have purchased a full set of contract documents.
Contractors must comply with the PA Department of Labor Wage Rate Determinations, as specified in the Contract Documents. No bid may be withdrawn for a period of sixty (60) calendar days after date of opening. The Borough of North East reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to accept or reject any item or combination of items contained in any bid and to waive any irregularities in conjunction therewith.
