North East Borough Zoning Hearing Board Considering Two Variance Requests

The North East Borough Zoning Hearing Board will hold a public hearing on Monday, July 11, 2016, at 7:00 p.m. in the North East Borough Chambers, 31 West Main Street, North East, PA 16428. The Zoning Board will hear the following variance requests:

Heidi Oldaker, owner of 127 East Main Street, (Parcel No. 36004035000500) requests a variance to construct a two-car garage and enlarge driveway on east side of property. The named parcel lies in a R-B Multiple Family Residential Zoning District and does not meet yard requirements as stated in Zoning Ordinance §27-406 and §27-503 as determined by the ZHB.

John Haibach, owner of 26 Eagle Street, (Parcel No. 35006026001300) requests a variance to build a landing for the front steps. The named parcel lies in a R-B Multiple Family Residential Zoning District and Section 27-501 prohibits enlarging a non-conforming use or structure without approval from ZHB.

Anyone with an opinion either for or against this request may be heard. Any person with a disability requiring special accommodations to attend this meeting should notify the Borough at 725-8611 five (5) working days prior to the meeting. The Borough will make every effort to provide reasonable accommodations.

  5. When municipalities seek bids for contract work, all bid documents should be available online, free of charge. Printed copies, if requested, should be offered at cost.
  6. Agendas should be posted online a minimum of 3 days before public meetings take place allowing interested citizens an opportunity to hear discussions and offer input on matters important to them.
