North East Borough Zoning Hearing Board Will Meet June 8th

The North East Borough Zoning Hearing Board will hold a public hearing on Monday, June 8, 2015, at 7:00 p.m. in the North East Borough Chambers, 31 West Main Street, North East, PA 16428. The Zoning Board will hear the following variance request: David L. Thornton, developer of Whistle Run Subdivision, requests a Minimum Rear Yard Variance for eight parcels located on Jefferson Street and eight additional parcels located on Pine Tree Lane.

Zoning Ordinance No. 797 Chapter 27 §27-406 requires a forty (40) foot minimum rear yard in an R-B Multiple Family Residential Zone. A variance reducing the minimum rear yard requirement to thirty (30) feet for these 16 lots is requested. The Parcel Numbers affected are: 36-012-066.1-001.00 through -008.00; 36-012-066.1-010.00 through -016.00, and 36-012-066.1-005.00.

Anyone with an opinion either for or against this request may be heard. Any person with a disability requiring special accommodations to attend this meeting should notify the Borough at 725-8611 five (5) working days prior to the meeting.   2. Transparency is expected in all government meetings and daily operations.

  5. When municipalities seek bids for contract work, all bid documents should be available online, free of charge. Printed copies, if requested, should be offered at cost.
  6. Agendas should be posted online a minimum of 3 days before public meetings take place allowing interested citizens an opportunity to hear discussions and offer input on matters important to them.
