Remember the post here about the live train cams? I mentioned that you see some interesting things going by now and then and I just happened to check the cams this evening and as the end of a passing train approached I was very surprised to see a red caboose bringing up the rear. If you have even the slightest knowledge of trains, you know any caboose is a relic of the past, but, nevertheless, there it was.
The photo above is a hasty screen grab, thus the blurred image, but you can see the big CV, which stands for Central Vermont and the number 4043. A quick Google search tells me it’s privately owned and like various private rail cars can be attached to regular trains. This was a CSX freight with a mixed consist.
If you’re not a railfan, this may not be of any interest to you, but there are quite a few individuals in the area who like to keep up on such things, so there it is.
