North East Area Comprehensive Plan Outlines Goals for Future Development

The North East Area Comprehensive Plan was introduced to area residents with a meeting Tuesday evening at the North East Township municipal building. Jon McGranor, of the Erie County Department of Planning & Community Development, gave a presentation highlighting the main goals and what was involved in each.

The 3 primary goals of the plan are:

  • Improve Our Downtown Area
  • Preserve North East Area’s Rural Characteristics
  • Improve Our Parks

There is a detailed explanation of each of these goals in the 96 pages of the plan and it’s worth taking some time to see what the planners have in mind.

This is a draft version and feedback from residents may still result in changes before the final plan is adopted, which is a multi-step process involving public hearings and votes by the various governing bodies.
