The Borough of North East hereby gives notice that the Borough Council for the Borough of North East, Erie, County, Pennsylvania, at its regular monthly meeting on November 7, 2022, commencing at 6:00 p.m. at the Borough Hall, 31 West Main Street, North East, PA 16428, will conduct a public hearing on and consider enactment at such meeting of one (1) ordinance:
Ordinance 921 Domestic Animals and Fowl Ordinance, summaries of which are set forth below.
An ordinance of the Borough of North East, Erie County, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania repealing and replacing ordinance 195 prohibiting the keeping of chickens and other domestic fowl with the domestic animals and fowl ordinance.
The above statements are a brief summary of the Ordinance to be considered, copies of which are available and on file at the North East Borough Office, 31 West Main Street, North East, PA 16428, and on the North East Borough website at www.northeastborough.com.

Ordinance 195 Keeping of Chickens and Other Domestic Fowl:
“It shall not be lawful for any person, or persons to keep chickens or other domestic fowls within the limits of the Borough of North East, unless such fowls are provided with a suitable enclosure, and not allowed to run at large at any time except upon their owners premises.”
