North East Borough Mayor Jon Triana took a trip to Colorado two months ago. While there, he was offered a job which he accepted. According to Erie News Now, he is still in Colorado and plans to continue working remotely as mayor until December 1st when he plans to resign.
“If and when he resigns we will then have an opportunity to select a resident of the borough to become the new mayor,” said Ryan McGregor, North East Borough Councilman.
Upon accepting Triana’s resignation, he says the Council will then have 30 days to seat a new mayor and they will also receive letters of intent from residents who would like to fill the position.
