North East Borough Seeks Bids for Ramps and Sidewalks

The County of Erie will receive sealed bids labeled for the North East Borough Handicapped Accessible Curb-Cut Ramp Project [S-14-E-32-6-3(B)] until 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 at the Erie County Controller’s Office, Room 107, located at the Erie County Courthouse, 140 West 6th Street, Erie, PA 16501 at which time and place all bids will be publicly opened and read aloud. Bids are for invited for the following: The removal and replacement of twenty (20) ADA curb ramps and adjacent sidewalk area.

Contract Documents, including drawings and technical specifications, may be reviewed/obtained at the office of the engineer, Hill Engineering, Inc.; 8 Gibson Street, North East, PA 16428 (Phone: 814-725-8659; Fax: 814-725-3867) for a nonrefundable deposit of $75.00. Addenda, if any, will be issued to only those persons whose name and address are on record as having obtained the Contract Documents.

Each bid must be accompanied by a bid guarantee in the form of a certified or cashier’s check or bid bond with corporate surety payable to the County of Erie in an amount equal to ten percent (10%) of the bid price. Attention is called to Federal and State civil rights and equal employment opportunity requirements; Erie County Equal Employment Opportunity Requirements; and the Erie County Minority/Women Business Enterprise (MBW/WBE) and Section 3 Compliance Requirements, all as set forth in the Contract Documents. Attention of the bidder is also called to the requirement to pay Davis Bacon Wage Rates and comply with applicable labor standards provisions.

The successful bidder shall be required to furnish a Performance Bond and a Labor and Materialsmen Bond each in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the contract price. Bids may be held by the County for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of opening bids. The County reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding.   6. Agendas should be posted online a minimum of 3 days before public meetings take place allowing interested citizens an opportunity to hear discussions and offer input on matters important to them.
