The next township supervisors meeting will include a discussion on the North East Marina which means talking about the formation of an authority to take over ownership and operation of the marina from the PA Fish and Boat Commission. Russ LaFuria is the supervisor chosen to take the lead and so far, he has been gathering information, but has taken no further action on the matter.
With a change of township solicitors, it’s unclear who will be sitting in for this meeting and what their position on the matter will be.
The group headed up by Representative Jake Banta and Dan Adamus working to create this marina authority has repeatedly said time is short and a decision needs to be made in order for PA to release the $15 million already allocated for the marina to the authority and for action to be taken to make sure the marina is in operation for the 2024 boating season.
The borough indicated they were unlikely to move forward if the township doesn’t agree, so the decision by the supervisors is critical.
Everyone interested in the future of the marina should plan to attend, Monday, December 4th at 7:30PM.
