The project team working to establish a North East Marina Authority plans to address both the North East Township Supervisors and the North East Borough Council at the November 20th Monday meetings. Representative Banta will be at the council meeting at 6PM but is unable to attend the supervisors meeting at 9AM.
Although there is broad support for saving the marina, the previous meetings on November 6th revealed some confusion or concern exists about the steps necessary for forming the marina authority. The project team working on this process wants to address these concerns and will do so at today’s meetings.
The team will elaborate on several important points
- There is no risk or liability assigned to the participating municipality/municipalities itself/themselves.
- The Authority is the proper vehicle for the marina
- To address the question “Why Fuller Hose?”
- Sand and Dredging
- The Authority must be created to take necessary next steps
All of these issues are covered in detail in the presentation which is included at the link below. Everyone concerned with the future of the marina should attend one or both meetings if possible and read the presentation to get a better understanding of what the team is trying to accomplish.
