North East Borough is entitled to apply for and receive an annual allocation of CDBG monies from the PA Department of Community and Economic Development (PA DCED) pursuant to the provisions of PA Act 179 of 1984 and since 1985 has received approximately $3.8 million in CDBG funding. For FY 2022, the Borough is entitled to $95,702 which is $783 less than last year’s grant of $96,485. The County on behalf of the Borough will submit an application to DCED requesting the funding by October 28, 2022.

- $86,072 – Wall Street Sidewalk & Curb Replacement Project – Replacement of deteriorated sidewalk, curbs, and driveway aprons along Wall Street from West Street to South Mill Street. The project is an “eligible” activity and is “fundable” in that more than 51% of the persons to benefit from the proposed improvements are of low-to-moderate income. The Borough anticipates allocating at least two fiscal years of funding for the project as construction is anticipated to cost approximately $150,000.
- $9,000 -Program Administration – General management, oversight, and coordination of the Borough’s CDBG program.
