from L to R: Mike Wilkinson, Aaron Jelley, Amy Burniston, William Roberts, Ed Mascharka
The North East Community Marina Authority welcomed two new members at their regular board meeting Wednesday: Mike Wilkinson and William Roberts.
The board reported that their initial Walleyes and Wailing Guitars fishing tournament was a great success and very well attended, even after the two week weather reschedule. Lots of fishing for the tournament and for the children’s fishing, food trucks, skydivers and several live bands, culminating with Jake’s Blues with our PA rep Jake Banta. They plan to do it all again next year.
There was a very long discussion about proposals for the restaurant which is now between two bidders. A decision will be made soon, but in either case, due to the late date, the opening will be some time in April or May of 2027.
They also discussed and plan to offer a pro-rated slip fee for those who may want a slip for a month or two as the season winds down.
There was a brief, but very interesting proposal to install a live weather camera at the marina which will also include a number of other sensors such as temperature, wind speed and direction, humidity, etc. It will be available on the web and through an app. The board was very interested and eager to move forward on this.
The next meeting is scheduled for September 16th at 7PM.
