The Borough of North East does hereby give notice that the Borough Council thereof will consider at its regular meeting on the 16th day of December 2024 commencing at 6:00 p.m. prevailing time, for adoption, the 2025 Budget which will be available for public inspection during normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the Borough Hall located at 31 West Main Street; North East, PA 16428 or www.northeastborough.com from the date of the within Notice through the meeting date and further, the adoption of the Ordinance set forth below which maintains the real estate millage. Interested parties may offer written comments or appear at the meeting to offer oral comments.
TAX ORDINANCE 2025
An ordinance of the Borough of North East, County of Erie, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, fixing the tax rates for the year 2025. Be It Ordained and Enacted, and it is hereby ordained by the Borough Council of the Borough of North East, County of Erie, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; SECTION 1:That a tax be and the same is hereby levied on all real property within the Borough of North East subject to taxation for the fiscal year 2025 as follows: For General Purposes, the sum of 5.00 mills (.0050) on each dollar of assessed valuation. For Library purposes, the sum of .089 mills (.00089) on each dollar of assessed valuation. Section 2: That any Ordinance, or part of Ordinance, conflicting with this Ordinance is hereby repealed insofar as it conflicts herewith.
