North East Borough Request Bids for Clarifier Removal and Replacement

Sealed bids will be received by the North East Borough; 31 West Main Street; North East, PA 16428, until 2:00 p.m., prevailing time on the 30th of December 2020 for Contract 1 – General Construction Site I Clarifier Equipment Removal and Replacement Project.

Work under this Contract involves removal and replacement of equipment inside an existing 95-foot diameter clarifier including drive mechanism, center support pier, sludge removal header, access bridge, surface skimmer, scum trough and related, complete per the plans and specifications.

Each bid must be accompanied by proposal security in the form of a certified check, bank cashier’s check, treasurer’s check, or bid bond in an amount equal to not less than ten percent (10%) of the total bid price in accordance with provisions contained in the “Instructions to Bidders” section of the specifications. Proposal Security shall be made payable to the North East Borough.

Copies of contract documents and specifications may be examined at the North East Borough Office or at the office of Greenman Pedersen, Inc., 8 Gibson Street, North East, Pennsylvania 16428. The contract documents may be obtained from Greenman Pedersen, Inc. upon non-refundable payment of $125 for each set of Contract Documents. Addenda, if any, will be issued to only those persons or companies who have purchased a full set of contract documents. Contractors must comply with the Prevailing Wage Rate Determinations, as specified in the Contract Documents. Except as otherwise expressly permitted by law, no bidder may withdraw its bid for a period of 60 days after date of bid opening. The North East Borough reserves the right to reject any or all bids, to accept or reject any part of any bid, and to waive all informalities in connection therewith.
