North East Borough Will Consider Proposed Budget and 2018 Real Estate Tax Rates

The Borough of North East does hereby give notice that the Borough Council thereof will consider at its regular meeting on the 4th day of December, 2017 commencing at 7:00 p.m. prevailing time, at the Borough Hall, 31 West Main Street, North East, PA 16428, for adoption, the 2018 Budget which budget will be available for public inspection during normal business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Borough Hall from the date of the within Notice through the meeting date and further, the adoption of the Ordinance set forth below which maintains the real estate millage. Interested parties may offer written comments or appear at the meeting to offer oral comments.

Tax Ordinance – An ordinance of the Borough of North East, County of Erie, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, fixing the tax rates for the year 2018.

Be it ordained and enacted, and it is hereby ordained by the Borough Council of the Borough of North East, County of Erie, Commonwealth of Pennsylvania:

SECTION 1: That a tax be and the same is hereby levied on all real property within the Borough of North East subject to taxation for the fiscal year 2018 as follows: For General Purposes, the sum of 4.75 mills (.0047500) on each dollar of assessed valuation. For Library Purposes, the sum of 0.089 mills (.000089) on each dollar of assessed valuation.

SECTION 2: That any Ordinance, or part of Ordinance, conflicting with this Ordinance is hereby repealed insofar as it conflicts herewith.

  5. When municipalities seek bids for contract work, all bid documents should be available online, free of charge. Printed copies, if requested, should be offered at cost.
  6. Agendas should be posted online a minimum of 3 days before public meetings take place allowing interested citizens an opportunity to hear discussions and offer input on matters important to them.
