Notice is hereby given that the Board of Supervisors of North East Township will consider the following Ordinance for adoption on the 25th day of November, 2014, at the North East Township Building, 10300 West Main Road, North East, Pennsylvania 16428, beginning at the hour of 9:00 o’clock A.M.
ORDINANCE NO. 2014 – 006 AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ASSESSMENT, LEVY AND COLLECTION OF A LOCAL SERVICES TAX WITHIN THE LIMITS OF THE TOWNSHIP OF NORTH EAST AT A RATE OF FIFTY TWO ($52.00) DOLLARS PER YEAR, DEFINING RELEVANT TERMS, PROVIDING FOR THE COLLECTION OF TAX AND IMPOSING FINES AND PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS. The proposed Ordinance establishes a Local Services Tax in the amount of $52.00 per year for all individuals exercising an occupation within North East Township and requires employers to deduct said tax from employees and remit it to the Collector of said tax in accordance with the terms of the Ordinance. Fines and penalties are established for violations. The Occupational Privilege Tax as established by Ordinance No. 004-1998 is repealed as it relates to taxes for the year 2015, and thereafter.
