The PA House of Representatives is now evenly divided, 101 to 101 after the death of Rep. Matt Gergely, D-Allegheny. The Democrats have held a one seat majority in the house. A special election will be held to fill the vacancy at a date to be determined. The district, near Pittsburgh, is heavily Democrat.
It remains to be seen how this will affect any pending legislation.
