Pennsylvania Governor Tom Wolf Rated Most Liberal in the USA

December 21, 2015 by Paul Crowe

Here’s an interesting study of state governors worth looking over as the budget crisis in Harrisburg drags on, Governor Tom Wolf was ranked, along with every other governor in the USA on an ideological scale of liberal to conservative based on a wide range of data points, and our governor ranks as the most liberal in the country. When you think of governors from states like California, Oregon, Minnesota and New York, that’s pretty surprising, … or maybe it’s not, though it gives you something to think about when considering the difficulty we’re having getting a budget that requires hard decisions on spending.

Using data from OnTheIssues, InsideGov broke down the political ideology of every governor. OnTheIssues analyzes public statements, press releases, campaign platforms and voting records to score each governor’s view on important issues. We then converted these scores to a single scale from -10 (most liberal) to +10 (most conservative).

Does the governor’s far left position complicate matters when negotiating with the PA legislature? It certainly could, but the best thing to do is closely examine the proposed solutions from the state House and Senate and the governor then decide for yourself.

We Support Real Elections

"... one man, one vote, in person, on Election Day, in public, with ironclad voter identification. Absentee ballots should be limited to overseas military personnel only; if you’re out of town or even the country, that’s your choice. There should be no “ballot curing,” drop-off votes, early votes, or judge-mandated late votes."
