North East Marina on the Agenda for both Borough and Township Meetings

Representative Jake Banta will be speaking at both the NE Borough Council meeting and the NE Township Supervisors meeting on Monday, November 6th in support of forming the North East Marina Authority. He has been working with a number of individuals and the PA Fish and Boat Commission to find ways to save and expand the marina.

We have made great progress in developing a strategy that would create a local authority to receive the marina from the commission, along with the capital funding which has already been approved (but not yet released by the governor) for necessary improvements to the marina’s infrastructure.

  1. Everyone has the right to know what their government is doing.
  2. Transparency is expected in all government meetings and daily operations.
  3. Everyone working in the government works for, and is answerable to, you and me.
  4. All laws, regulations, ordinances, budgets, audits and other public records should be freely available, preferably online, for citizens to examine without special fees and paperwork before they can do so.
  5. When municipalities seek bids for contract work, all bid documents should be available online, free of charge. Printed copies, if requested, should be offered at cost.
  6. Agendas should be posted online a minimum of 3 days before public meetings take place allowing interested citizens an opportunity to hear discussions and offer input on matters important to them.

I am a tenant in the North East Marina and would like to know is there someway tomorrow’s meeting could be streamed or is there someway that we could find out what representative Barta says about the funding for the marina most of us are from out of town at the marina, and would like to keep up on the progress made on keeping the marina open thank you very much
