At the supervisors meeting on January 16th, supervisors presented two resolutions, 2023-009 and 2023-010, setting water and sewer rates effective at the beginning of the second quarter. The resolutions were tabled and it is anticipated they will be passed at the next meeting on February 6th, 2023.
Supervisor Fredrick Shunk explained the need for an increase due to rising costs passed on by North East Borough and from the dramatic rise in cost for parts and materials used by the department.
The current rate for water is $6.30 per 100 cubic feet. The new rate will be $6.55.
The current sewer rate is $7.72 per 100 cubic feet. The new rate will be $8.49.
