For North East Township and North East Borough
The NE Community Marina Authority is meeting tonight, 5-21-25 in borough council chambers at 7PM. There will be discussion on the seawall repairs, proposed dock installation, the acceptance of the transfer agreement to the PA Fish and Boat Commission and the closing date of the transfer.

Are you aware that North East Township is using awarded monies to extend sewer along the marina frontage on route 5? They are able to do so ONLY IF they can show jobs are created by the project. Perhaps they are citing the Blue pike restaurant at the Marina as “jobs created”.? Unless good faith is shown to continue full, long term operation of the North East Marina, the “jobs” are short term and only being utilized for a bigger purpose.
I fear the marina will be sold at a huge profit by the state and then subdivided to maximize the sewer hook, ups, as is the former Dohler property , the impetus of the sewer extension,
You see, Dohlers can’t be developed without muni sewer and the sewer project longevity (ongoing water and sewer billings) requires many hook ups along the way. ie. Requiring development of our marina property. I hope I’m wrong, only time will tell if our Marina is being used as a pawn and will be subdivided for residential sewer revenue.
